Shaker Heights High School Stadium
Shaker Heights, Ohio
Stadium
AVG successfully completed a $1.5 million high school stadium improvement project for the Shaker Heights School District, delivering a significant upgrade to their athletic facilities. The project included the complete redesign and relayout of the football field, featuring new synthetic turf with multipurpose markings for football, soccer, field hockey, and lacrosse. Additionally, a new six-lane polyurethane running track was installed to enhance the school’s track and field capabilities.
The scope of work extended beyond the field itself, incorporating the installation of new sidewalks, a state-of-the-art subsurface drainage system, and careful regrading to improve site functionality. AVG also added ornamental iron fencing and gates, enhancing both security and aesthetics. Essential athletic equipment, including an electronic scoreboard, as well as discus and long jump areas, were also integrated into the project.
One of the project’s defining challenges was the aggressive timeline. Design commenced in March 2012, and construction was completed in time for the season’s opening football game in August 2012, demonstrating AVG’s commitment to delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
The firm fulfills requests promptly and is one of the most cooperative architectural firms with whom I have worked. I continue to be impressed by the consistent high quality and commitment to the districts in which Architectural Vision Group has served as the Project/District Architect.
