The new William Rainey Harper School was thoughtfully constructed to replace the former Harper Elementary School, reflecting a commitment to community engagement and collaboration. Throughout the design process, extensive input was gathered from local residents, businesses, and the Neighborhood Building Advisory Committee through a series of community meetings. This collaborative approach ensured that the design evolved in response to the specific needs and desires of the community at every phase.

The school features an array of innovative spaces designed to enhance the educational experience. Highlights include extended learning areas and breakout rooms that support both individual and collaborative learning styles, providing students with flexible options to engage with their studies. The incorporation of ample natural lighting, along with advanced automated lighting controls, not only creates a welcoming atmosphere but also promotes energy efficiency in line with sustainability goals.

This project proudly achieved Silver LEED certification, demonstrating a commitment to environmentally responsible design and construction practices, while fostering a healthy and productive learning environment for students and staff alike.
