The New Miles School, replaced the former Miles Elementary School on the same site. The three-story facility plan was chosen to maximize site features such as parking lots and playground areas. Community engagement played a vital role in the design process, resulting in the inclusion of unique components like a stage connecting student dining and the gymnasium, the ability to secure the academic wing during community events, and emphasis on natural lighting in classrooms. This project received Silver LEED Certification.
