The Elyria High School project involved the renovation of the historic 1894 Washington Building, along with the demolition of outdated structures to pave the way for a new school. To meet site requirements, an adjacent city block was acquired and prepared to house the academic core of the new high school campus. The project was executed in two phases: first, students were relocated to the new facility, followed by the demolition of surrounding additions, culminating in the completion of the entire campus.

The project generated overwhelming excitement among community members, local businesses, and organizations. Thanks to the community’s active involvement and contributions, the design and functionality of the school have transformed it into a true community center. Input and partnerships with organizations such as Invacare, Elyria Memorial Hospital, Rigid Tools, and the Elyria Rotary Club resulted in significant enhancements, making the facility a beacon of pride for the City of Elyria.

There are many architectural firms in the business of school design but I feel confident in saying AVG is the cream of the crop. Syed and his team have become part of the fabric of this district.
