The brand-new 173,000 SF North Olmsted PK-5 Elementary’s construction commenced August, 2024. This design is modernized to fit evolving 21st-century learning and will be both a blend of traditional and contemporary design. This will incorporate collaborative spaces that will allow for new teaching methods, flexible, multi-use classrooms, spaces that are ADA compliant to best serve every student, and spaces for hands on learning. This facility is sure to inspire the next generation of North Olmsted students through these enhanced educational spaces:
- STEAM Labs: Modern labs for hands-on learning and collaboration.
- Flexible Classrooms: Adaptable spaces to support various teaching methods.
- Library and Media Center: Central hub with the latest technology and resources.
- Small Group Rooms: Spaces for personalized instruction and support.
- Accessible, Inclusive Playgrounds: Playground areas that support all students.
- Extended Learning Areas: ELA’s that support collaboration and creativity
While consolidating resources from three schools into one advanced facility, the design will continue to maintain individuality. Each grade wing has their own unique design elements, and commemorative displays and areas will be in place to honor the three consolidated schools. Because of consolidating to one location, the District will be able to have improved facility management and resource allocation, an open design to support team teaching and staff collaboration, and one central community space with community engagement areas to involve and support parents and local organizations.
