Architectural Vision Group (AVG) provided comprehensive design services for the Knox County Career Center’s Renovations and Additions project, funded by the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) Vocational Facilities Assistance Program (VFAP). The scope of work encompassed critical upgrades to the facility’s infrastructure, including the installation of a new HVAC system, electrical system enhancements, plumbing fixture replacements, and updated general finishes. Additionally, emergency lighting and fire alarm systems were modernized, new sprinklers were installed, and site improvements were made to enhance both functionality and safety. The project also included the replacement of loose furnishings and significant technology upgrades to support modern learning environments.
Beyond these renovations, the project focused on expanding and reprogramming four key vocational programs: Hotels & Resorts, Culinary Arts, Welding, and Cosmetology. Both the Culinary Arts and Cosmetology programs, which are open to the public, received design updates that reflected their broader community usage. To support this, the re-design added 15,000 square feet of new space, ensuring these programs had the room and resources needed for growth and functionality. The new additions were meticulously designed according to the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) Design Manual for Career Technical Spaces, ensuring compliance with standards while providing modern, flexible spaces tailored to the needs of students and the community.
