Architectural Vision Group provided comprehensive design services for the Pymatuning Valley High School project, initially funded through the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission’s (OFCC) “Exceptional Needs Program.” Following funding approval, the Pymatuning Valley School District also became eligible for additional funding under the “Classroom Facilities Assistance Program,” enabling further enhancements.
This $11.2 million project involved extensive renovations to the existing 92,591-square-foot high school, along with a 9,000-square-foot addition to accommodate the anticipated enrollment of 559 students in grades 9-12. The project also included the construction of a new 18,000-square-foot auditorium, seating 750 people, funded through a Locally Funded Initiative (LFI), providing a valuable venue for both school and community events.
The renovations were extensive, focusing on modernizing and upgrading key infrastructure. This included heating system improvements, the addition of air conditioning, a complete roof replacement, electrical system enhancements, plumbing and fixture upgrades, and the installation of new windows. Exterior masonry repairs were completed to improve durability, while interior updates featured new finishes such as paint, carpeting/VCT, ceiling tiles, lockers, and casework. Additional improvements included the installation of a modern security system, an upgraded emergency lighting system, and a new fire alarm system.
Accessibility was a priority, with ADA-compliant upgrades such as a new elevator, ADA hardware, and signage, ensuring the facility is fully accessible to all students and visitors. Site upgrades, a new sprinkler system, and the introduction of new furniture and technology systems were also included, creating a modern, safe, and dynamic learning environment for Pymatuning Valley High School students.
